Q16. What is the cost to Study at NKUHT?  

The tuition fees listed below are effective as of August, 2018, and all fees noted below are for degree programs at NKUHT. Please kindly refer to the official notice on NKUHT website for any updates on these fees.

Q2. What is the duration of the program?  

The program is a 4-year Bachelor Program. For years 1, 2 and 4, the student participates in in-class studies, while in year 3, all students will complete a mandatory paid industry internship.

Q3. What are the career profiles for the ITM students? 

Our students will gain a clear understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of the Tourism and Hospitality industry. The program will emphasize the global nature of the industry by focusing on international related case studies and current events.

Based on the program courses and your industry internship, graduates will be qualified to seek operational positions in a number of sectors within the hospitality and tourism industry including: attractions, accommodations, tour operations, e-tourism distribution, sales and marketing and event planning. However, due to our strong program curriculum our graduates will be prepared to progress up the career ladder within five years of graduation. Graduates may find success in the following positions: Sales Manager, Social Media Coordinator, Product Development Coordinator, Travel Counselor, Professional Conference Organizer, Guest Service Manager and Housekeeping Manager.

Q4. What advanced studies after graduation? 

NKUHT offers post-graduate (Master and Doctorate) programs. Alternatively, you can apply to other post-graduate programs all over the world.

Q5. Why do we wear the uniform on-campus? 

NKUHT is a Professional University in Tourism and Hospitality and therefore it aims to educate students on how to dress professionally. Wearing uniforms is a good way for students to appreciate and gain an understanding of how important it is to have a professional appearance when in the tourism industry.

Q6. How do Hong Kong and Macau Students apply to NKUHT?

According to the NKUHT regulations for Foreign Student application, applicants who hold Hong Kong or Macau citizenship are not eligilbe to apply to NKUHT. Hong Kong and Macau students' admission to universities in Taiwan must abide by the Regulations for Hong Kong and Macao Residents Studying in Taiwan  enacted by the Ministry of Education. Students have to take the Overseas Joint College Entrance Exam, which is the only application. The exam is held in May every year. Please contact University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Student  for the exam information.

Q7. What is the minimum required TOEFLscore to be accepted into the program? 

The minimum required TOEFL score is 500.

Q8. How do Overseass Chinese students apply to NKUHT? 

According to the NKUHT Regulations for Foreign Student Apllication, applicants who hold Overseas Chinese Student status are not eligible to apply to NKUHT. Overseas Chinese Students' admission to universities in Taiwan must abide by the Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan (僑生回國就學及輔導辦法) enacted by the Ministry of Education. Students have to take the Overseas Joint College Entrance Exam.

Q9. I am a Taiwan Scholarship winner. I would like to know if providing a letter
      from Ministry of Foreign Affairs would be sufficient as a bank statement. 

Yes.

Q10. Is the application fee compulsory or can I pay after being accepted? 

Yes, the application fee is compulsory.  An application package without payment of the fee would not be considered complete and would not be processed.

Q11. Does my hight school diploma and official original transcript have to be verified 
         by a Taiwanese Government Office in the country of my school? 

Yes, it is compulsory that all application documents including diploma and transcript be verified by a Taiwanese Government Office in the country of your school.

Q12. When do I pay for the tuition fee? 

Tuition fees need to be paid within two weeks of the university semester starting. Detailed information will be provided in the student's admission notice.

Q13. Regarding the tuition fee, do I have to pay for one semester or two semester at 
         a time?   

Students pay their tuition fee at the beginning of each semester.

Q14. Can I start studying at NKUHT as early as in May or at the beginning of the 
        second semester? 

No, all students start their academic studies in September of each year.

Q15. Does NKUHT process application for the spring semester?  

No, NKUHT only recruits students once a year for the fall semester beginning in September
